Workshops

Workshops are held year-round and are structured and designed for all levels of experience and abilities.
They are organised for a minimum of 2 people and dates are upon request. Classes include all materials.

Monoprints and Monotypes

This two-day workshop is ideal for artists who love to draw and paint, since monotype printing allows considerable freedom in its approach to imagery being the most painterly among the printing processes as well as the most spontaneous and unpredictable.
There are a number of different ways to work with monotyping and monoprinting, all of which will be explored during this exciting workshop: additive methods, direct tracing, subtractive methods, using stencils, with oil based inks, waterbased inks, adding texture and details with found materials.
It is a very adaptable form of printmkaing and it is accessible to everyone, including total beginners.
If you have never done printmaking before, this is a good starting point!
FEE €240 (2 full days)

Linocut printing

Create your own Andy Warhol-inspired original print

You will learn how to identify what makes a good design for linoprinting, then design and carve your own lino. This is a good introduction to printmaking for beginners or those looking to revisit rusty skills.

Etching for the terrified

This is a specialist traditional form of printmaking which involves producing an image on a metal plate (a matrix) by incising lines in the metal using acid. During the two-day workshop you will learn how to prepare a zinc plate, transfer your drawing, etch the matrix, ink it and print it.
Walk away with as many prints as you can make and a matrix that can be printed over and over again.
All levels of experience are welcome
FEE €240 (2 full days)

Easy printmaking - a class for the whole family

Feathers and leaves

This 1/2 day workshop is aimed at total beginners and at those who have no experience in the arts but have always wanted to try. It is especially designed for children accompanied by an adult.
The class will also explore embossing with found textures, a similar technique to Karazuri (empty printing), an ancient Japanese technique which involves carving a pattern or image into a woodblock which is printed without ink, leaving an embossment on the paper for a visual decoration known as embossing. In modern printmaking it is often employed in combination with other techniques.
FEE €70 per person (1/2 day)
